Blacktown City Family SportsFest to kick up FREE sporting fun

09 August 2017

The kick-off for the annual Blacktown City Family SportsFest is just around the corner!

The 2017 Blacktown City Family SportsFest will be held on Saturday 26 August from 12pm to 4pm at Council’s flagship leisure facility - Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope (Sentry Drive, Stanhope Gardens).

Mayor of Blacktown City Councillor Stephen Bali said SportsFest is set to be bigger and better this year with loads of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

"There will be loads of things to see and do including sports clinics, interactive sporting displays, appearances from sporting personalities, inflatables, prizes and lots more. The best part of SportsFest is that everything is free!" said Mayor Bali.

"Blacktown is a sporting city and this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase the best of sport in Blacktown. The day will offer a range of ‘come and try’ displays and also be an opportunity to find out about all the great programs and services that are available at Council’s Leisure & Aquatic Centres."

Entry to Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope will be free from 12 noon, allowing families to enjoy all that SportsFest has to offer on the day, while also checking out the range of facilities on offer at the Centre.

This year’s SportsFest will include interactive sporting displays from:

AFL NSW/ACT, Aqua Learn to Swim, Blacktown Mini Bike Club, Blacktown Scorpions Rugby Union Club, Blacktown Tennis Inc., Sydney Blue Sox, Cricket NSW, Blacktown District Cricket Association, Go4Fun, Creative Dance Academy, Hockey NSW, Little Kickers, Gymnastics NSW, My Hoops Basketball, Netball NSW, GWS Fury Netball, NSW Rugby League, Ready Steady Go Kids, Roller Derby, Skate NSW, Western Sydney Wanderers FC and Wheelchair Sports NSW.
