Blacktown's aged population (65+) constitutes around 8.9% of the total population of Blacktown City. In the next twenty five years, it is predicted that the older age groups will increase faster than the younger age groups of Blacktown. While future older people will be healthier and more active for longer, many of them will still need domestic and personal support at home. Council works with, and lobbies, State and Federal governments and local organisations to improve funding for these services.
Council believes that older people are a valuable asset within our community and are committed to their active participation in our local community. Council also employs an Aged Planner to support the development, delivery and planning of services for older people. Council's Aged Planner can be contacted via our Contact Us page.
