Council's Nursery

Does Council supply trees to residents?

Yes, Council allocates 2 free plants per property, per year.

In keeping with Council's strong commitment to the "Greening of Blacktown" Blacktown City residents are entitled to collect two free plants per household to plant around their homes each financial year. Residents can collect their annual allocation of plants from Council's Nursery (Kent Street, Blacktown inside the Showground). The Nursery is open to the public from 9am to 3pm Tuesday - Friday.

Proof of residence in the Blacktown LGA will be required (eg: Rate Notice, Drivers Licence).

Throughout 2014, Council will again hold three Nursery Open Days on Saturdays to accommodate residents who cannot make it to the nursery during normal business hours. Residents can only collect their annual allocation once per financial year from the nursery.

There will also be more opportunities to collect free plants in 2014 with the annual Travelling Plant Giveaway and the Local Government Week Free Plant Giveaways from August through to October. Keep an eye out in your local newspaper or here on Council's website for further details.
