The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has produced a guide for all parties with regards to lobbying local government councillors.
Council has resolved to provide the ICAC Guide on its website (and intranet as appropriate).
The ICAC has a view that lobbying councillors is normal and that it is common in local government. It is considered to be part of the democratic process.
It is in the public interest that lobbying is done fairly and does not undermine the confidence that Councillors make impartial decisions.
In order that the public is fully informed about appropriate lobbying of Councillors at Blacktown City Council, the ICAC Guide is available to download here.
