Timbertop Reserve

Timbertop Reserve is located in the upper catchment of Blacktown Creek between the Great Western Highway and Norman St, Prospect.

The vegetation found within the reserve is Shale Plains Woodland, consisting of Grey Box and Forest Red Gum open forest with dense thickets of Blackthorn (Bursaria spinosa) in the shrub layer. Other species present include Dodonaea viscosa, Daviesia genistifolia, Dillwynia juniperina, Hardenbergia violacea and Themeda australis.

Regeneration and revegetation activities have also been undertaken along Blacktown Creek to create a link between Timbertop Reserve and William Lawson Reserve wetland, these works have included the establishment of ‘No Mow’ areas and the planting of 8,000 trees, shrubs and grasses between the Great Western Highway and Myrtle St, Prospect.

The Timbertop Reserve Bushcare Group meet on the 1st Saturday of each month, between 2pm — 5pm.
