Catchments within the Blacktown Local Government Area

Water in the Blacktown Local Government Area (LGA) flows into two well-known water bodies: Sydney Harbour and the Hawkesbury River. The Upper Parramatta River Catchment drains into Sydney Harbour and the South Creek and Cattai Creek Catchments drain into the Hawkesbury River.

The main waterways in these catchments include:

Blacktown Creek (flows into Parramatta River and then into Sydney Harbour)
Lalor Creek (flows into Toongabbie Creek then into the Parramatta River and then into Sydney Harbour)
Eastern Creek (flows into South Creek and then into the Hawkesbury River)

Ropes Creek (flows into South Creek and then into the Hawkesbury River)

Bells Creek (flows into Eastern Creek, then South Creek and then into the Hawkesbury River)
South Creek (flows into the Hawkesbury River)
Bungarribee Creek (flows into Eastern Creek, then South Creek and then into the Hawkesbury River)
