Beauty Salons & Skin Penetration Premises
Skin penetration services can create disease transmission risks. If correct hygiene practices are not implemented diseases like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV may be passed between clients.
In the Blacktown Local Government Area there are approximately 250 salons and skin penetration premises in operation. All businesses which perform skin penetration activities must ensure their staff follow correct procedures to protect themselves and customers. Skin penetration activities include tattooing, piercing, waxing, acupuncture and other beauty therapies.
Council's role
