Mt Druitt Land, Water and Environment Learning Centre, Emerton
The Mt Druitt Land, Water and Environment Learning Centre gardens are located at the Holy Family Centre, Emert Parade, Emerton.
The Gardens were established in 1998 through partnerships between the Holy Family Centre, Blacktown City Council, the Western Sydney Area Assistance Scheme, community groups and volunteers.
The Mt Druitt Land, Water and Environment Learning Centre has a number of themed areas including a bush tucker garden, vegetable patches, and a herb-growing plot. The Gardens are also working towards creating a self-guided discovery trail so visitors can experience all the different features within the grounds. Events at the Gardens are held to coincide with occasions such as World Environment Day and community celebrations.
