Notice to Ratepayers

During November 2009,the Blacktown City Information Centre located on the ground floor of the Civic Centre, 62 Flushcombe Road Blacktown, will be open each Saturday morning between the hours of 8.30am and 12.00noon for acceptance of rate payments and related enquiries.

Payment of rates and charges may be made using any of the following methods:


Bpay

Contact your participating bank, credit union or building society to make this payment directly from your cheque, savings or credit card account.

Direct Debit

  • Pay your account automatically from a nominated account.
  • Application forms are only available from the Blacktown City Information Centre and a separate application is required for each rateable property.

Postbillpay

Mail Payments

  • Direct to Locked Bag W128, Sydney NSW 1292.

Payments in person

  • Direct at the Blacktown City Information Centre.

Internet payments

  • Access to Post billpay and your participanting Bpay financial institution is available through Council's website.

Bank Payments

  • Payment to Westpac Bank.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR COUNCIL'S

Community & Neighourhood Centres

  1. Notice is hereby given that Council wishes to receive nominations for the Management Committee of the Sargents Centre (for People with a Disability), 13-19 First Avenue, Blacktown, NSW 2148. The Management Committee will be appointed by Council under Section 355 of the Local Government Act and will have the day to day responsibility for the Care, Control and Management of the Centre.
  2. Residents of Blacktown City are encouraged to submit nominations for the Management Committee which is open to local residents aged sixteen (16) years and over.
  3. To obtain a nomination form please contact Council's Community Access Worker, Mrs Sue Edwards on9839 6067.
  4. Completed nomination forms should be returned by 26 November, 2009 to:

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1993

PART 4 - STREET DRINKING


Council proposes to create Alcohol Free Zones in Eastern Creek in the areas defined as :-

a. Brabham Drive between Great Western Highway and Ferrers Road.

b. Great Western Highway between Brabham Drive and Huntingwood Drive.

c. Ferrers Road between Gate 16 Ferrers Road and Brabham Drive.

d. Peter Brock Drive between Auto Place and Brabham Drive.

e. Huntingwood Drive between Great Western Highway and Brabham Drive.

f. Liberty Place.

g. Healey Cct.

h. Ford Street.

i. Decker Street.

j. Woods Cl.

k. Rex Roth Place.

l. Auto Place

m. Raceway Place

n. Distillers Place

It is proposed that the zone will operate from the date of the appropriate Council Resolution and will expire on the 30th June 2010, unless Council resolves to suspend or cancel such zone during this period of operation.

Proposed Administration Fee

Council invites submissions on the proposed administration fees and charges for Notices issued under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 for the 2009/2010 financial year.

The proposals are on display in the foyer of the Blacktown City Council Civic Centre at 62 Flushcombe Road Blacktown from Thursday 10 November 2009 until the exhibition closes at 4.00pm on 8 December 2009.

PARK COMMITTEE ELECTION

FOR RIVERSTONE PARK AND MILL STREET RESERVE RIVERTSONE

Blacktown City Council would like to invite interested persons to a Public Meeting to be held at:

Venue: Riverstone Schofields Memorial Club, Market Street Riverstone

Date: Tuesday 24 November 2009

Time: 6.30pm


If you are willing to volunteer your time to serve the community and would like to actively take part in the future development and management of these reserves then this is your opportunity to participate.

Council is seeking volunteers to take up positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer as well as general Committee members.

Riverstone Park and Mill Street Reserve have been developed to cater for the Local Communities needs with Rugby League, Soccer, Cricket, Athletics, Netball and Tennis as well as other suitable activities.

This meeting will be held to elect a Management Committee Pursuant to Section 355 of the Local Government Act 1993 to assist Council with the care control management of these Reserves in accordance with Council's Guidelines for management committees.

Emerton Leisure Centre to open at 6am!

Council's Emerton Leisure Centre is trialling new operating hours for the upcoming summer season commencing Monday November 2nd 2009 until April 2010.
The new 6am opening time weekdays will provide more opportunities for the community to access the centre before work or school for their health & fitness needs or just for a relaxing splash around.

To compliment the early start we are introducing a morning squad training program twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The squad program is open to both children and adults of varying abilities.
