26 January 2012 Australia Day Concert and

Fireworks Display At Rooty Hill

CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS

Vehicle Access
On Australia Day 26 January 2012 this event will commence at 4:00 pm with entry to the public via the Eastern Road gate permitted from 3:30 pm. An opening in the median strip opposite the gate in Eastern Road will allow vehicle access for eastbound lanes.
Fireworks commence at 9:00 pm. Vehicle entry will not be permitted to the Rooty Hill after 8.30pm.
Road Closures
Church Street will be closed from 10am to all vehicles except local residents and vehicles with event passes. Vehicles parking on the Rooty Hill may exit via Church Street at the conclusion of the event.
Pedestrian Access
Pedestrians who cross Eastern Road before or after the event should do so at the traffic signals at Rooty Hill Road South or Blacktown International Sports Park. Those needing to cross Rooty Hill Road South should use the traffic signals at Eastern Road or Evans Road.
Parking Restrictions
Temporary NO STOPPING restrictions will be in place along both sides of Eastern Road (full-length), Rooty Hill Road South (between Cawarra Street and Eastern Road) and Church Street (full-length) on the day of the event.
Off-Street Parking Availability
Parking will be available at the Rooty Hill. Should the parking at the Rooty Hill become full, additional overflow parking will be available at:
  • Blacktown International Sports Park
These car parks are accessible from Eastern Road.

Traffic Conditions

From 8:30 pm motorists can expect delays in Eastern Road, Francis Road and in Rooty Hill Road South.

Please watch for Traffic Control personnel or Police and be prepared to follow their instructions.

Ward 3

  • Wetland reconstruction continues at Mitchell Reserve. The works will improve the surrounding waterways and prevent flooding.
  • Modification of the Tennis Courts at Alpha Park, Patrick Street, Blacktown continues.
  • Construction of path paving along the eastern side of Walters Road, Blacktown from Spruce Street to H/No 151 has been completed.
  • Road resurfacing of Douglas Road, Blacktown from Hunter Street to Pembroke Street has been completed.
  • Road resurfacing of Pendant Avenue, Blacktown from Keyworth Drive to Tress Street has commenced.
  • Construction of a concrete path paving at Dina Beth Avenue, Blacktown has commenced.

Ward 4

  • Replacement of play equipment at William Mason Reserve, Mount Druitt.
  • Upgrade of the cricket practice nets on Joe McAleer Reserve, Winten Drive, Glendenning continues.
  • Road resurfacing of Polaris Place, Rooty Hill has been completed.
  • Road resurfacing of Mason Street, Mount Druitt has been completed.
  • Construction of a concrete path paving along the southern side of The Avenue, Mount Druitt has been completed.
  • Road resurfacing of McFarlane Drive, Minchinbury has commenced.
  • Stormwater drainage improvement works at Myall Street, Doonside has commenced. The project will include the construction of a new stormwater drainage line and associated pits. The work will also include the replacement of damaged sections of kerb and gutter on the western side of Myall Street.

  • Carpark construction in Hanna Reserve, Oakhurst continues.
  • Carpark construction in Heber Park, Hebersham, off Pringle Road continues.
  • Construction of a concrete path paving as part of the Ropes Creek Walk on Reserve, Wilkes Crescent, Tregear continues.
  • Road resurfacing of Anitra Place and Koomooloo Crescent, Shalvey has been completed.
  • The refurbishment of the memorial garden area within the RAAF Memorial Park, Mount Druitt has been completed. The works included pruning of existing shrubbery, replacement of plants and shrubs where required, removal of offensive markings on memorials and insignia and re-mulching of gardens.
  • Road resurfacing of Hopman Crescent, Shalvey has been completed.
  • Road resurfacing of Stevenage Road, Hebersham has been completed.


Proposed Fenced Off Leash Area - Endeavour Park, Kings Langley

Off leash areas provide exercise and socialisation opportunities for dogs and their owners that are not generally offered in most public locations.

This also provides an opportunity for owners to work with their animals thereby reducing anti-social behaviour.

As part of its ongoing commitment to urban animal management,

Council is pleased to advise of the proposed establishment of a

new fenced off leash area at Endeavour Park, Shanke Crescent, Kings Langley.

Please see below for the specific location within the reserve.

How to be involved:

Council now seeks written submissions from interested parties in

relation to this proposed off-leash area. Your involvement will help

ensure that community needs are addressed appropriately.

Written submissions will be accepted up until 5pm on

17 February 2012, addressed to:

Proposed Fenced Off Leash Area - Orana Park

Off leash areas provide exercise opportunities for dogs and their

owners, which are not generally afforded in most public locations.

Off leash areas also provide dogs an opportunity to socialise and

for owners to work with their animals in reducing anti-social

behaviour.

As part of its ongoing commitment to urban animal management,

Council is pleased to advise of the proposed establishment of a

new fenced off leash area within the existing off leash area at Orana Park which is located at Wallpark Avenue and Blacktown Road, Seven Hills. It is proposed that when the fenced off leash area is established the remainder of the current off leash area would revert back to an "on leash area".

Council now seeks written submissions from interested parties in

relation to this proposed off-leash area. Your involvement will help

ensure that community needs are addressed appropriately.
