Aqua Natal program a hit with Mums – day or night!

Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope's Aqua Natal program continues to be a huge success with over 1,005 new and expectant mothers experiencing the benefits since its launch in July 2005.
The unique program is delivered in partnership with Sydney West Area Health Service and is designed specifically for expectant mums from 16 weeks to birth through to new mums from 6 weeks onwards.
A qualified fitness leader, specially trained to manage exercise with pregnancy, hosts the aqua-based physical activity session.
The benefits of the program include:
- Improved and maintained fitness
- Improved posture and increased relief from strain on the back
- Increased muscular strength and stamina
- Health and wellness benefits both during pregnancy and following birth
Also included in the program are weekly information sessions from a Sydney West Area Health Service Community Nurse and other health industry professionals and a morning tea/light supper. Topics discussed will range from Nutrition, Infant First Aid, Baby Massage and Pelvic Floor Exercises.
Morning classes will commence on Monday, October 15, at 10:30am and the evening classes will start from Tuesday, October 16, at 7.00 pm, with classes running for 8 weeks. Tuesday evening classes will feature information sessions and a complimentary supper. During weeks 1 to 3 the sessions will run from 6.00pm to 7.00pm and in weeks 4 to 8 will be at 6.30pm to 7.00pm.
