    Blacktown City residents are being ‘patted on the back’ for their continued support of Blacktown City’s largest community fundraising event the Relay for Life. The thank you comes after over $2,200 was collected by members of the Blacktown City Relay for Life Committee in just one weekend at Emerton and Riverstone Shopping Centres and Parklea Markets.

    The Western Sydney artists’ collective, The Gift Project, challenges the ideas associated with the monetary value of art and exchange in the exhibition Fray, which opened at Blacktown Arts Centre (78 Flushcombe Rd, Blacktown) on Saturday 4 August and will run until 29 September, 2007.

    Residents are invited to take part in the National Simultaneous Storytime event at any of Blacktown City’s four branch libraries taking part at 11am on Thursday, September 6, 2007. This unique event, now in its seventh year, ill involve staff at Blacktown City Libraries four branches simultaneously, with other organisations from as far as Broome to Hobart, reading the picture book; The Magic Hat.

  • 01/08/2007 Internationally accredited Westlink M7 Cities Marathon -an overwhelming Success!

    The newly IAAF accredited, Westlink M7 Cities Marathon, held Sunday, July 29, 2007, along the M7’s Shared Pathway , was hailed a success amongst competitors, sponsors and supporters with Glenn Guzzo of Epping finishing the course ahead of 153 competitors in the internationally recognised course record time of time of 2:24:57. Glenn also won the inaugural event in 2006. Glenn collected an $8000 first place winners cheque for is efforts
