Blacktown City Relay for Life set to kick off 2008

Official Launch - Friday, August 1, at Blacktown Workers Club
The Blacktown City Relay for Life Committee will officially launch the Blacktown City Relay for Life 2008 in a special launch event at the Blacktown Workers Club Ballroom, on Friday, August 1, 2008 from 7pm.
The launch event will feature a cabaret show, raffles, auctions, a three-course meal and lots more!
Special guest MC on the night will be Bobby Bradford from Major Oaks at St Marys and on stage entertainment will include the Frogs on Toast cabaret group.
The Relay for Life launch is the perfect opportunity to help raise money for cancer research while enjoying a fine meal and great entertainment. Throughout the night there will be representatives from the Cancer Council NSW and the teams registered for the 2008 Relay for Life.
The 2008 Blacktown City Relay for Life will take place over the November 1 & 2 weekend at Blacktown Olympic Park (Eastern Road, Rooty Hill).
Residents, community groups, businesses and schools are encouraged to become a part of this community fundraising event. Billed as a 'Team Event to Fight Cancer', the Relay will involve teams of 10 to 15 people taking turns to walk laps around their local oval. Relay for Life is an overnight event - enabling walkers to come and go as they please, or pitch a tent next to the track and stay the night.
In the past 5 years the Blacktown City Relay for Life has raised over $750,000 and is the highest earning Relay for Life event in New South Wales.
Tickets to the Relay for Life launch are $35 per person and includes your three course meal and the cabaret show. All proceeds from the day will be donated to the official Relay for Life tally for 2008. To book your spot please call 0434 315 327.
