Cancer research fundraiser, St Bartholomew's Church - Sunday, August 24, 2008
'Beauty of the World' with Loosely Woven is a majestic performance by 23 instrumentalists and singers who will be presenting a light-hearted acoustic concert at St Bartholomew's Church, Ponds Road, Prospect on Sunday, August 24 at 2pm.
The concert is just one of the many fundraising events taking place across Blacktown City to raise funds for the cancer research fundraiser, Blacktown City Relay for Life.
Instruments featured as part of the 'Beauty of the World' concert include harp, fiddles, viola, recorders, clarinets, saxophones, flutes, ukuleles, concertina, keyboard and percussion.
'Beauty of the World' performed by Loosely Woven an off the cuff troupe of musicians from Sydney's Northern Beaches will featuring singer Sonia Bennett and will be held in memory of the late Denis Kevans - well known Australian Poet Lorikeet.
Loosely Woven concerts are performed strictly acoustically. This means that audiences have a rare opportunity to hear the actual sound of vocal chords and violin strings vibrating, it also makes it easier for audiences to join in. There are always many opportunities for audience participation at a Loosely Woven concert and when they do, it sounds fantastic!
Tickets are $15 per person and bookings are essential by calling Ken Freeman on 9624 5216.
