Congratulations to the winners of Blacktown City Council’s

The Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM announced the winners of Council's 2008 Ratepayer Rewards Scheme including first prize winner of a $20,000 Solar City Household package after drawing their names out of a barrel last Friday, September 3, 2008 at Council.
The major winners will be presented with their prizes at a special afternoon tea on Monday September 29, 2008 at 3.00pm in Council's Porirua Room, Council Chambers, 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown.
Almost 12,000 Blacktown City ratepayers that paid their rates in full by August 31, had their names put in a barrel draw for the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes thanks to the support of local businesses and Council.
This year's winners and their prizes are;
First Prize -J & E Camilleri - Mount Druitt
Solar City Household Package that includes a supply and installation of a Solar Electricity System, Solar Hot Water and Home Energy Audit valued at $20,000.

* Blacktown Solar City is a $37 million project funded by the Australian Government as part of its Solar Cities initiative. The Blacktown Solar City Consortium includes BP Solar, Integral Energy, ANZ, Landcom, Big Switch Projects and Blacktown City Council. A partnership between government, industry and the community, the project will help residents and businesses in the Blacktown City community change the way they think about and use energy. Blacktown Solar City offers residents the opportunity to install and finance discounted solar power systems, retrofit their homes with insulation and undertake home energy audits. Businesses can also participate by installing solar electricity systems on their premises and undertaking energy efficiency programs.
