The Social Plan will also be used as a guideline for raising the profile of social and community issues, influencing resource allocation, providing leadership and direction to the community sector and most importantly of all provides a framework that will allow community needs to be met - now and in the future.
The launch will take place as part of the Blacktown Combined Interagency meeting on Thursday, November 1. The information provided on I.D is based on the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census, and the launch has been planned to coincide with the release of Census 2006 information.

"The Social Plan 2007 and I.D tool are vital resources for Council and local community organisations for their planning for the future. Both allow Council to identify needs of the community and provides a framework to achieve these. The Social Plan in particular measures what we need now and in the future and has been developed in such a way that Council can now start working towards these needs," Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM said.
