Local Government Week is organised by the Local Government and Shires Association of NSW. Local Councils need to embrace change to deal with the increasing demands on them to deliver vital public services, by better managing their scarce resources, by attracting and retaining a qualified workforce, by better strategic planning and by working together and with their communities for the benefit of all.
A total of 2,500 native and exotic plants ranging from grasses, medium sized shrubs and trees will be available. Residents who come along to the Local Government Free Tree Giveaway in Blacktown or Mount Druitt must bring proof of residency with them and a limit of two plants per residential allotment applies.
