Get ready for the 2007 Blacktown City Christmas Decorated Homes Competition

With less than 8 weeks to Christmas, Blacktown City Council is calling on the people of Blacktown City to get into the festive spirit by nominating a neighbour, friend or favourite retailer, who are decorating their home or business, for the 2007 Blacktown City Christmas Decorated Homes Competition.

Proudly sponsored by Blacktown RSL, Westpoint Blacktown and Karl Holdsworth The Good Guys, Prospect, over 200 homes throughout the Blacktown City Local Government Area are expected to be nominated with over $8,000 in prizes up for grabs. Help your neighbour put those lights up and you might find yourself with a prize from the Karl Holdsworth The Good Guys, Prospect.

"The Christmas Decorated Homes Competition is an opportunity for the local community to decorate their homes for the festive season and its also a great opportunity for the local community to go Christmas Light watching in their local area", Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly OAM said.

The Christmas Decorated Homes Competition will be officially launched this year at Westpoint Blacktown's Carols under the Stars event on Saturday, December 1 from 6pm. The event will be held in conjunction with Council at the Athletics Precinct, Blacktown Olympic Park (Eastern Road, Rooty Hill) and tickets are $2 available from Westpoint Blacktown from November 1, 2007. If you know someone who captures the Christmas Spirit by decorating their home or business, nominate them for the 2007 Blacktown City Christmas Decorated Homes Competition. Nomination forms are available from Blacktown City Council, Westpoint Blacktown, Karl Holdsworth The Good Guys Prospect and Blacktown RSL. Nominations close on Friday, December 7, 2007.
