It’s time for our young people to show off their artistic talents!

Young people aged between 5 and 17, either living or going to school in the Mt Druitt and Rooty Hill areas, are being invited to show off their artistic flair by submitting a piece of artwork in the upcoming 'Early Days' exhibition to be held between November 1 - 7, 2007 at the Emerton Youth and Recreation Centre.
Young artists are asked to submit works in up to 4 categories including; General, Photography/Digital Imaging, Ceramics, and Craft.
The exhibition is organised by Emerton Youth Recreation Centre and Blacktown City Council to encourage budding young artists living in the Mt Druitt and Rooty Hill areas of Blacktown City by displaying their works in a Youth Arts Exhibition at Emerton Youth Recreation Centre, corner Copeland and Jersey Roads Emerton.
Council is encouraging young people from local schools, community and art groups and churches in the area to submit their pieces for display.
During the exhibition (November 1 - 7), a number of art workshops will be conducted for young people.
"Early Days is a great initiative that Council supports. The exhibition offers young people the opportunity to gain experience in a locally based cultural program," Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM said.
Winners of each category will be presented with their prizes on the opening day of the exhibition, November 1, 2007 at 3.45pm.
