Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM will congratulate residents of Dalray Street, Lalor Park on successfully graduating from Council's Sustainability Streetprogram this Sunday, July 27, 2008.

The graduation marks the successful completion of the Sustainability Street program - an innovative community-based training program that nurtures all aspects of sustainable living through community development, education, training and support.

The program has become a beacon for communities within the Blacktown City Local Government Area to get ahead on learning about water and energy efficiency, waste reduction, enhancing local biodiversity and reconnecting community relationships.

Through the program's four stage learning and development process of Mulch (Learning about sustainability), Grow (Setting targets), Harvest (Celebrating achievements), Sow (Sharing Wisdom with others), the residents of Dalray Street have become examples of sustainable living within Blacktown City.

"The Sustainability Street program is an opportunity to learn how to reduce energy and water usage and waste, enhance the beauty of their street, create a safer community and make new friends while having fun in the process", Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM said.

"The graduation event on Sunday is an opportunity to congratulate and celebrate the participants hard work", Mayor Kelly continued.
