Masterplan for Faulkland Crescent Reserve

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

The Plan of Management and Masterplan for Faulklands Crescent Reserve in Kings Park will shortly go on public exhibition, after the endorsement by Blacktown City Council at its meeting on Wednesday, May 7

Faulklands Crescent Reserve in Kings Park (bounded by Madagascar Drive, Faulklands Crescent, Camorta Close, Binney and Garling Roads, and Rewell Street) is over 16 hectares in area and contains a significant proportion of the Cumberland Plain Woodland.

The draft Masterplan for the reserve was developed through site analysis, investigations and community consultation and identifies future improvement works for the site.

In summary, Council's Masterplan proposes a range of initiatives to be carried out over time, including;

  • Pedestrian pathways throughout the reserve
  • Viewing /picnic areas at the highest points of the reserve
  • Formalisation of the bushland zones
  • Amendments to the off leash dog area, to remove dogs from the bushland zones
  • Signage and entry statement features at the Faulkland Crescent, Madagascar Drive, Garling Road and Sunnyholt Road entries in to the reserve.

An initial review of the Plan of Management will then be provided to Council after five years, with a further comprehensive review after 10 years.
