2007 Blacktown City Festival - A License to Thrill
100,000 people are expected to make their way into Blacktown City's CBD for one of the highlights of this year's nine-day Blacktown City Festival; The Street Parade and Fiesta Day, 8.00am-4.00pm, Saturday, June 2, 2007.
The popular Street Parade and Fiesta Day gives the local community the opportunity to take advantage of over 350 street stalls, 7 performance stages, exciting displays and heaps of attractions.
From 8.00am, residents and visitors to Blacktown City will have the opportunity to shop for knick-knacks, hand-crafted jewellery, show bags and taste the delicious foods from the many food stalls. There will be performances by local community groups on the performance stages with each of the stages to celebrate a different theme including performing arts, music and dance, youth, Indigenous and Koori, bands and singers.
Channel Nine celebrity Cameron Williams will be the 2007 'Face of Festival'. Festival goers will be able to capture a glimpse of Mark at 11.00am at the Main Stage (Stage 2 - Corner of Main and Campbell Streets).
Commencing at 11.00am, a vibrant parade will travel through the streets of Blacktown's CBD with over 60 marching bands, clowns, floats and dance groups to entertain the crowds.
