The 2007 Blacktown City Festival will open in spectacular fashion on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27 as Nurragingy Reserve (Knox Road, Doonside) plays host to Knights in armour, Lords and Ladies, castles, dragons and fair maidens. My Lords & Ladies Medieval Fayre is back by popular demand in this year's Festival and will feature everything medieval, including colourful pavilions, armed combat with swords, jousting on horseback, birds of prey and live musicians - all for FREE.

The opening weekend event, My Lords and Ladies Medieval Fayre is set to be one of the best events ever staged in Blacktown City. There will be something for everyone, including children's craft workshops, camel rides, food stalls, ancient armour displays and real life dragons.

A special attraction will be the Bird of Prey display, featuring live Peregrine Falcons, Hawks, Eagles and other amazing feathered predators. There will be a traditional market, filled with quality arts and crafts for visitors to buy, ranging from metalwork to unique gifts, fashions and other delightful objects.

Musicians will perform music from the Baroque and Renaissance periods, with classical influences to tease the senses. Celtic music will also be a feature of the event.

Meet Robin Hood in a real European forest, beware of evil witches with their poison apples and witness real Knights fighting for truth and valour.

My Lords & Ladies Medieval Fayre is presented by Blacktown City Council and will be the opening event for the 2007 Blacktown City Festival 'A License to Thrill'. Opening from 10am to 4pm on May 26 and 27, the event is free so bring the entire family.

Nurragingy Reserve also features barbeque and picnic areas, so families can enjoy an action packed day without the expense.
