Become a Supporter of Sustainability (SOS)

A new environmental initiative will kick off across Blacktown City in the coming weeks, dubbed as the Supporters of Sustainability Challenge (SOS), Blacktown City Council is in search of competitors to take part in the challenge.
The SOS will enable Blacktown City residents to reduce their impact on the environment by making a few small changes in their home and everyday life. Resident will be encouraged to pledge their support to make a real difference to the environment by simply changing some daily habits.
Some of the pledges residents will be able to undertake as part of SOS include;
- I will use my electricity wisely
- I will use less water
- I will shop with care
- I will reduce my waste
There will also be weekly prize giveaways to residents who pledge to join the SOS challenge.
To join the challenge, complete the pledge form on Council's website www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au or call Council's Environmental Services section on 9839 6125.
