Wednesday, May 2, 2007

FREE - 7.30pm, Friday, June 1, 2007

Alroy Tavern, Plumpton AND Royal Cricketers Arms Inn, Prospect

At 7.30pm, on Friday, June 1, 2007, the 2007 Blacktown City Festival will take on a rather traditional feel as the Royal Cricketers Arms Inn, Prospect and the newly refurbished Alroy Tavern, Plumpton each host a special evening of poetry and verse with a typically Australian flavour, Bush Poets.

Join Warren 'Arch' Bishop (Australian National Folk Festival Reciter of the Year) and special guests as they recite Aussie ballads with humour, nostalgia and some saucy anecdotes from yesteryear.

Enjoy dinner, some fine ales and good company with family and friends. Soak up the ambience of these lovingly restored heritage properties in this fun, relaxed atmosphere.

"Both the ever popular Royal Cricketers Arms and the newly refurbished Alroy Tavern are the ideal locations for this once a year event, with their rustic atmosphere which will help audience members appreciate the evening of poetry and verse," Mayor of Blacktown City Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM said.

Bush Poets is FREE to attend (excludes dinner and fine ales) and no bookings are required.
