Taiko, the ancient Japanese art of drumming, will feature in this year's 2007 Blacktown City Festival, in a one-night only concert experience in the Bowman Hall (Campbell Street, Blacktown) from 7.30pm on Friday, June 1, 2007.
TaikOz are expected to enthral the audience with their thunderous beats and beautiful melodies. From the flowing melodies of Riley Lee's bamboo shakuhachi flute to the thunderous beats of TaikOz's 250kg Grand Drum, the seven members of TaikOz combine powerful rhythms and soulful melodies with an athletic dynamism that will leave you breathless.
Performed by TaikOz - an organisation of seven musicians with a year-round schedule of performances, workshops and class teaching, the group will be fresh from their Sydney Festival sellout season at the Sydney Opera House and Musica Viva National Tour.
Tickets to TaikOz as part of the 2007 Blacktown City Festival are only $11.00 and are available NOW from Blacktown City Council, 62 Flushcombe Road, Blacktown or by phoning 9839 6000.
