Blacktown City Council will launch the Blacktown City Social Plan 2007 and I.D – the online demographic system this Thursday, November 1 in the Function Centre, Max Webber Library (Level 1, Flushcombe Road, Blacktown) at 11am.

Emerton Leisure Centre is inviting the local community to participate in the Centre’s inaugural Pink Ribbon Trivia fundraiser at 7pm, Friday, October 19, 2007. The Trivia Night will include dinner, trivia, charity auction and a chance for the local community to come together for a worthwhile cause.

08/10/2007 FREE Community Celebration for Blacktown Relay for Life
Blacktown City residents are invited to a FREE Community Celebration on Saturday, October 27 between 10am – midnight, as part of the Blacktown City Relay for Life, fundraising event. The celebration is for the entire community – even if you are not taking part in the Relay, and will be jam packed with; stalls, roving entertainment, live bands and dance performances from Steve Fogarty, Jazzaroo, St Andrews College Show Band, Hueys Party and more, fireworks and bingo.

A Free Stroke Awareness Seminar will be held at Blacktown City Council on Friday, October 26 from 9.30am until 2.30pm giving residents the opportunity to hear from health professionals about the warning signs of, and ways to prevent, a stoke.

05/10/2007 The Barber of Seville- a shortened version of the comic opera
Blacktown Arts Centre in collaboration with Pacific Opera is pleased to present the 2007 production of The Barber of Seville – a shortened version of the Opera sung in English by a bunch of fresh young singers. Ideal for audiences who have never experience the Opera before, Pacific Opera will perform The Barber of Seville, on Saturday, November 10 at 8pm in the Bowman Hall, Blacktown.

05/10/2007 It’s time for our young people to show off their artistic talents!
Young people aged between 5 and 17, either living or going to school in the Mt Druitt and Rooty Hill areas, are being invited to show off their artistic flair by submitting a piece of artwork in the upcoming ‘Early Days’ exhibition to be held between November 1 - 7, 2007 at the Emerton Youth and Recreation Centre.

As part of its Artist in Residence program, Blacktown Arts Centre is pleased to present SOUNDSOUP, a free weekly Sunday afternoon (2pm-4pm) activity until October 28, 2007 where people interested in sounds can bring a sound, instrument or idea of their choice and enjoy a fun filled afternoon of play.
