Pink Ribbon Trivia Night at Emerton Leisure Centre

Emerton Leisure Centre is inviting the local community to participate in the Centre's inaugural Pink Ribbon Trivia fundraiser at 7pm, Friday, October 19, 2007. The Trivia Night will include dinner, trivia, charity auction and a chance for the local community to come together for a worthwhile cause.
All proceeds from the Trivia Night will be given to the Pink Ribbon Foundation, which supports breast cancer patients and their families. Each year one in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer, by supporting Pink Ribbon you could potentially be benefiting, your mother, sister, niece, friend or a complete stranger.
Despite our society's advances, the causes of breast cancer remain unknown. Each year more than 11,800 Australian women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Of these women, over 2,500 die. This makes breast cancer the most common cause of cancer-related death in Australian women. 100 men are also diagnosed with the disease each year.
The Trivia Night is open to people of all ages and costs $25 per person and bookings for a table of eight will receive a 10 percent discount. The night will includes dinner and trivia covering topics such as - general, sport, history, geography, current affairs and pop culture.
'You don't need to be brainy to join in the fun at the Trivia Night. Its for a great cause and will be a fun night out", Mayor of Blacktown City Councillor Leo Kelly, OAM said.
There will be many prizes up for grabs on the night thanks to sponsors; TYR, Cadbury Schweppes, Angus and Robertson, Cuba Hair, Dan Murphy's, Starco Jewellers, Target, Emerton McDonalds, St Mary's Leagues Club, City Beach, Pumpkin Patch, Chambers Cellars, Nat Bros Roses, Shashi Beauty Salon and Body Piercing Centre, Sydney Party Hire, Emerton Fruit Market, Emerton Meat Market and Palm Pacific Supermarkets.
"Through the local community's support and generosity, we hope this will be a very successful night to not only make people more aware of breast cancer but also to raise the much need funds so that Pink Ribbon can continue their research and on going support", Mayor Kelly continued.
Bookings for the Pink Ribbon Trivia Night are essential by calling 9628 7016. Tickets are $25 per person, and bookings for a table of eight will incur a 10 percent discount.
