Blacktown City Visitor Information & Heritage Centre
Looking for something to see and do in Blacktown City this weekend? Then why not make your first stop at Blacktown City's first Visitor Information and Heritage Centre (Civic Plaza, Flushcombe Road, Blacktown).
Opened in July this year, the Centre has been referred to as "an asset" and a "gem" by those that have visited. Without a doubt, the Visitor and Heritage Centre will point you in the right direction of great attractions and entertainment, all located in Blacktown City.
Based in the former Blacktown Public School building on Flushcombe Road, the Centre shines its uniqueness through the foundations of being listed as a Heritage building, providing valuable resources of information and most significantly, holding the only official "Blacktown" merchandise. You will find "Blacktown" postcards, t-shirts, hats, purses, key rings, teaspoons and much more. A cultural treat you cannot pass by.
Within the Centre's walls is a permanent exhibition space, now hosting From Marbles to Microsoft that presents a history of the Public School that opened in 1877. The exhibition has been a great success due to the collaborative work of Blacktown City Council and the Blacktown Historical Society.
To save you that blissful yet expensive trip to Italy the Visitor and Heritage Centre houses gorgeous leather bags, belts and purses that are all Australian made and 100 percent genuine leather, thanks to local business MF Leathergoods that are long time corporate citizens of Blacktown City.
So if you are looking for that something unique? Blacktown Visitor Information & Heritage Centre is the gateway to Australian, Indigenous and "Blacktown" clothing, jewellery, art and all that your heart desires.
Come visit the Blacktown Visitor Information and Heritage Centre and their friendly staff - whether you are local, visitor or a traveling tourist. Open Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 3pm. Located on Flushcombe Road, Blacktown, opposite Council, in front of Westpoint Shopping Centre and next to Max Webber Library.
