Free Information

In Blacktown, the crash history demonstrates the vast majority of young drivers are safe drivers.

Most drivers are safe because they need to keep their licence so they can get to work, enjoy social occasions and plan for the future.

Some of the challenges for young drivers include knowing how the system works so they can:

  • Buy a car without being ripped off,
  • Get insurance in case they have an at-fault crash,
  • Avoid the attention of Police and fines,
  • Keep their licence once they get it.

They also need up-to-date information so they know what happens if they are convicted of a drink-drive or drug-drive offence.

    Under The Radar sessions
Council conducts programs for young drivers to help them avoid repair bills resulting from a crash and avoid attracting Police fines.
Contact the Road Safety Officer at Council to find out how to run an Under The Radar session in your school as part of your PDHPE program.
