Sackville Street, Lalor Park Commercial Precinct,Draft Urban Design Improvement plan
DRAFT URBAN DESIGN IMPROVEMENT PLAN
Council has committed $500,000 in its 2008/2009 budget to an Urban Design Improvement Programme for the Sackville Street, Lalor Park Commercial Precinct. As part of this process Council has appointed Lorna Harrison Pty Ltd, landscape architects to prepare an implementation plan for the precinct in consultation with the local community.
The purpose of the Improvement Plan is to improve the visual appearance and accessibility of the Centre through improvements to the public domain including for example the functional characteristics of the public domain such as footpaths, bins, and seating.
A draft Urban Design Improvement Plan for the public domain has now been prepared by the consultants and is being placed on exhibition for public comment.
In preparing the draft Plan the consultants undertook a detailed analysis of the Study Area, as well as preliminary consultation with local property and business owners.
Council will be exhibiting the draft Plan from 6th to the 20th May 2009 at the Blacktown Council Civic Centre, Flushcombe Road, Blacktown. Additionally, the consultants, Lorna Harrison Pty Ltd, will be holding a display of the draft Plan on Friday 8th May 2009 from 10.30am to 12.30pm in Sackville Street in the vicinity of the pharmacy at the corner of Sackville and Stephen Streets.

Council invites all interested parties to come and inspect the draft Plan and if you have any comments to forward them to Council by no later than 22nd May 2009. You can forward your comments by:
