Enrolment Procedures

Before enrolling into one of our Child Care Centres your child needs to go onto Blacktown City Councils waiting list.

This can be done by phoning any of our Child Care Centres and making an appointment with the Director. The Director of that Service will take you through the waiting list form, recording all required information.

It is important that you take your child to this appointment so that they can have a look around the Centre and meet the staff. This will help your child settle into the Centre when they enrol to start and will give the staff some insight into the individual needs of your child.

There is an administration fee of $12.00 per application (more than one child can be on an application form) for Long Day Care and Preschool. The waiting list form has the provision for you to choose three of Council's Child Care Centres for inclusion on their waiting lists.

When a position becomes available at a Child Care Centre, the waiting list is consulted. According to the Commonwealth Governments Priority of Access Guidelines, the most eligible person is contacted and offered the position. If you accept the position it is best to then contact the Family Assistance Office to register for ChildCare benefit.

It is at this stage that you will be asked to come into the Centre to complete enrolment forms, Parent Agreements, provide immunisation and medicare details and pay bond.
