Family Day Care

Blacktown Family Day Care aims to provide a safe, stimulating, and nuturing home environment for children in care.

Family Day Care offers quality child care for children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years old in a home environment by registered carers throughout the Blacktown local government area.

Family Day Care operates 52 weeks of the year and caters to the needs of the community by providing long day care, part-time care, casual care, roster care, before and after school care, school holiday care, emergency care, night care and weekend care.

Carers can care for a maximum of seven (7) children at any one time. Small group experiences mean that your child will benefit from close interactions with their peers and the Carer. Carers provide programmed activities to enhance and extend your childs development, personal interests and abilities.

Blacktown City Council is the sponsor for Blacktown Family Day Care.

Blacktown Family Day Care is responsible for the provision of training, monitoring, resourcing and continual support of its network of registered Carers. Regular playgroups are held for Carers and the children in care by Blacktown Family Day Care Scheme. This enables the Carers to build supportive networks with other Carers and their children.

Blacktown Family Day Care Scheme is licensed by the Department of Community Services and the Carer is registered with the Scheme. Both the Carer and Blacktown Family Day Care must comply with the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, the Children's Services Regulation 2004 and any additional requirements of the sponsor.

A registered Carer can only accept into care children registered with the Blacktown Family Day Care Scheme.
