How do I find my lost dog?

What do I do about a stray dog in my street?

How do I register my dog or cat?
Council acts as an agent to recieve applications for dog and cat registrations under the Companion Animals Act. Any Council within NSW can accept applications under this Act, and you don't have to live in the Council area to lodge applications. General Enquiries
Do I need approval to prune or cut down a tree on my property?
Yes under the provisions of Councils Tree Preservation Order approval is required to remove or prune any tree located on a premises.
To seek approval from Council, either pay us a visit at Councils Information Centre, or complete the form available by clicking on the link below and return it with the appropriate fee.

Can I have the tree on Council land at the front of my property removed?
Contact Council's Customer Service Officers on 9839 6000 between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm weekdays, or, alternatively visit the Customer Service Centre on the ground floor of the Civic Centre between 8.30am and 4.30pm. An investigation of the matter will be conducted by Council staff following receipt of your request.
Does Council supply trees to residents?
Yes, Council allocates 2 free trees per property. The trees may be collected from the Council Nursery located at Blacktown Showground, which may be accessed from Kent Street, Blacktown, between 9.00am and 3.00pm Tuesday to Friday. Proof of residence in the Blacktown LGA will be required (eg: Rate Notice, Drivers Licence).
How can I find out who owns the property next door so I can arrange a dividing fence?

Privacy Act requirements limit the amount of information Council staff are able to provide. How do I contest an infringement notice ("on the spot" fine)?
Once Council Officers have issued such a Notice, any further action need be taken through the Infringement Processing Bureau, on telephone number 1300 138 118, or by following this link to their web page:

What do I need to do to speak on a matter at a Public Forum Session?
You must read the Public Forum Guidelines, and fill out a Public Forum Submission Form, and have it signed by a Justice of the Peace, no later than 6.30pm on the night of a Public Forum Session. (a JP will be available at Council from 5.45pm) Public Forum Guidelines and Public Forum Submission Forms are available from the Customer Service Centre on the ground floor of the Civic Centre between 8.30am and 4.30pm, or can be downloaded in PDF format.
