2008 AUSTSWIM Small Swim School of the Year Winner – Emerton Leisure Centre

Emerton Leisure Centre has been announced as the winner of the 2008 AUSTSWIM NSW Small Swim School of the Year, it was announced on September 25 at the annual NSW Water Safety Awards.
Presented by Olympic Champion Brooke Hansen, the award recognises the contribution that the Centre has made to the community in providing innovative, accessible and high quality water education programs.
"This is a great achievement for Emerton Leisure Centre and its staff. To have achieved this milestone in such a short time since its opening is a credit to the swim school teachers and the swim school program on offer at the Centre", Mayor of Blacktown City, Councillor Charlie Lowles said.
Emerton Swim School caters for children between 6 months of age to adults of varying abilities. Each program coincides with NSW school terms and lessons are available Monday to Saturday with morning and afternoon sessions on offer.
Lead by AUSTSWIM accredited instructors, the Centre's Swim School has been developed in conjunction with Royal Life Saving's Swim and Survive program, offering skills in swimming, water safety and survival skills in preparation of a lifetime of safe activity in, or near the water.
