Please don't dump syringes in your recycling or waste bins!
Safe Needle Disposal (848 kb)Syringes are being placed in the garbage and recycling bins, resulting in occupational health and safety problems for workers at waste and recycling centres.
To address this problem, Blacktown City Council in conjunction with selected pharmacies has introduced a safe needle disposal service for people with diabetes and other domestic users of lancets, syringes and pen needles.
Residents may deliver needles and syringes in a puncture proof container to the following chemists:
