Where Does My Recycling Go?
There are lots of good reasons why you should recycle.
These are just a few of them:
Recycling prevents emissions of many greenhouse gases and water pollutants.
Recycling creates jobs and stimulates the development of greener technologies.
Recycling conserves resources for our children's future.
Recycling reduces the need for new landfills and incinerators.

Landfill - potential resources lost forever ...
When you put things that could be recycled into your rubbish bin, you are wasting valuable potential resources.
What happens to the things I put into my recycling bin?
When you put things into your recycling bin, they are taken to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where a combination of machines and skilled people sort the recyclables so that they can be made into new products.
Milk, shampoo and detergent containers are manufactured into wheelie bins, irrigation pipes, and air conditioning hoses.
Paperboard milk and juice cartons are manufactured into recycled office paper.
Soft drink bottles made from PET are manufactured into new detergent bottles, carpet, and recycled fabric.
Glass bottles and jars are sorted by colour and then melted down to make new bottles and jars.
