Booking Conditions

It is Council's objective to ensure that all visitors to Nurragingy Reserve are able to enjoy this unique passive recreation and bushland facility and accordingly the following rules and conditions have been imposed for the benfit of all visitors.
  1. party's must have a representative of the group at their booked picnic area by 10:00am sharp, otherwise the Ranger will remove the reservation sign and the party will forfeit their booking.
  2. permission may be given for limited vehicular access into the picnic area to drop off equipment etc, otherwise all vehicles are confined to access roads and designated car parking areas.
  3. booked parties may put up their own signs provided that
    •      no trees or shrubs are damaged
    •      Council signs are not obscured
    •      nails are not used for fixing (adhesive tape is recommended)
    •      all signs to be removed at completion of the day
  4. no BBQ's or naked flames allowed during Total Fire Ban periods, including gas BBQ's.
  5. there is no electricity, gas or hot water available, however, Council supplies wood for BBQ's.
  6. dogs are permitted on a leash only.
  7. no money is permitted to change hands eg fund raising and the purchasing of tickets for rides is not allowed.
  8. selected amusement rides may be permitted in certain areas, however, these must be authorised by the Reserve Supervisor. The amusement hirer must contact Council's insurance section on 9839-6000, and supply the following information faxed on 9831-8846 or posted to Nurragingy Reserve, Knox Road, Doonside, 2767:
    •      a copy of the Public Liability Insurance cover of $5m minimum.
    •      a copy of Workcover Certificate.
    •      details of the type of amusement
    •      date of function, and name of group hiring the amusement.

Council encourages visitors to be Sunsmart by:

  • avoiding the highest UV period of 11:00am - 3:00pm (daylight savings time) by timing activities outside this period or by making use of shaded facilities;
  • wearing broad brimmed or legionnaire style hats, SPF 15+ broad spectrum sunscreen, UV protective sunglasses and covered clothing.
