Mayor's Foreword

I am very proud to present Blacktown City 2025 - Delivering the Vision Together, Council's guiding strategic document that will steer the direction of Blacktown City over the next 15 years and beyond.

Council operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has taken on many more responsibilities than those traditionally associated with Council functions such as roads, rates and rubbish. Blacktown City 2025 encapsulates the diverse range of services, activities and programs undertaken by Council and sets in place a plan for the future.

Blacktown City is a distinctive and memorable place to live in and to visit. Its young, dynamic and growing community is home to approximately 300,000 people, making it the largest local government area by population in NSW. Blacktown City offers new families and individuals a great place to call home, award-winning residential estates and unsurpassed recreational opportunities. This is coupled with commercial success and great employment opportunities - a winning formula for Blacktown City!

Our diverse and growing community is multi-dimensional in terms of culture, age and the overall demographic mix. This diversity offers challenges but above all great opportunities.

The future is difficult to predict but one thing is certain - Blacktown City will continue to grow. Council is mindful of harnessing that growth and ensuring that the future is positive for existing residents and those who will call Blacktown City home in the future.

Our Council is committed to delivering Blacktown City 2025 and working with the community and other stakeholders to ensure that the Vision is realised. I hope you will take the time to read this document and provide Council with your thoughts on our future. With your help Blacktown City Council will work to deliver the Vision together.
