Clean green spaces and places
2025 Statement - Where we will be
Blacktown possesses an engaging and agreeable balance between the built urban environment and the natural landscape of the surrounding parklands. The City's development as a clean, green, safe and cosmopolitan place is reflected in its public places and spaces and Council buildings. Streetscapes are spacious, leafy and refreshing, offering a green corridor between public and private areas.
The City's places are clean, safe and user friendly and community participation is encouraged in efforts to care for and maintain our City.
Our community has a sense of ownership and a feeling of wellbeing because it is proud of the City. Open space, leisure and recreational facilities present residents and visitors with every opportunity to pursue vibrant, healthy and family-oriented lifestyles all year round. These areas and facilities are renowned for being safe, appealing, accessible and diverse in nature. They are underpinned by a rich, unique and varied environment for recreation, sport, leisure and a range of passive pastimes.
Our natural areas have grown substantially and reflect the significance that the community places on their presence and importance. The challenge of balancing conflicting demands for leisure and recreation has been met and our natural areas attract an enthusiastic base of locals who are devoted to caring for these areas. Our community values and experiences the environment through an inviting, accessible and flexible network of recreational facilities.
