Burbs Festival on this Saturday, April 17
The official opening of the Bubs festival is here this Saturday, April 17 at Blacktown Showground from 1pm - 7pm. The one day event is a jam packed day full of music and arts for the youth of Western Sydney.
This year the Burbs Festival is expected to draw a crowd of approximately 3000 young people and their families. The day will feature live music across 3 stages, creative arts stalls, workshops, food, youth info, zines, a 30 metre graffiti wall demo, a freecycle, mobile skate park and much more plus entry is free!
The Burbs Festival will kick start off National Youth Week (Saturday 10 - Sunday 18 April 2010) in Blacktown City. National Youth Week is an opportunity for the young people of our community to showcase their passions and remarkable talents to the entire community. The Burbs Festival will enable our young people to celebrate with others across Western Sydney and experience a fun filled day of entertainment which is run by young people.
I encourage all young people to visit the Burbs Festival this Saturday. For further information contact Council's Youth Development officer on 9839 6000
The Burbs Festival is proudly a drug and alcohol free event and is also a non-profit youth initiative which is proudly supported by Blacktown City Council, Blacktown Workers Club, Centrelink and Learn 2 at Rouse Hill.
