Council welcomes the NRL All Stars to Western Sydney

Council was pleased to welcome the 2012 NRL All Stars Team to Western Sydney on Monday, 30 January when the team made a special appearance at the Max Webber Library.

Australia's elite rugby league players, led by Benji Marshall and Blacktown City junior Luke Lewis led the All Stars, met with local school children and participated in a Rugby League Reads reading session. The players and children read a short story and talked about the importance of reading.

Rugby League and the NRL has a huge following with many fans and families based in Blacktown City. The visit to the Max Webber Library was a great opportunity for residents and young children to meet the players and reiterate the importance of reading from a young age.
