Council’s 2011/2012 Budget on public exhibition
On Friday 20 May, Blacktown City Council announced a proposed $341 million balanced budget and launched the 2011/12 Draft Operational Plan.
Blacktown City is growing rapidly and community's needs and expectations are not only increasing but are becoming more diversified presenting Council with a significant challenge to both meet the community expectation, whilst also protecting Council's enviable financial position.
The 2011/12 budget includes funding for major works across the City including the redevelopment of Blacktown Showground, training and administration centre at Blacktown Olympic Park, traffic safety improvements, reserve embellishment works, CBD and commercial centre improvements, heritage restoration works and much more.
Both the 2011/12 Budget and Draft Operational Plan are currently on public exhibition until Thursday 16 June.
You can view the documents at Council's Civic Centre - 62 Flushcombe Road Blacktown, at any one of Council's five library branches; Mount Druitt, Riverstone, Blacktown, Stanhope Gardens and Lalor Park, or on Council's websites www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au or www.2025.blacktown.nsw.gov.au.
