Customer Service Charter Adopted

Customer Service is a demanding area and is arguably the critical success factor of many organisations. At Council, we are committed to delivering the best living and working environment through commitment to service. To acknowledge our commitment to you, Council has adopted a Customer Service Charter.

The purpose of the Charter is to explain how Council responds to its customers. We aim to maintain the highest standards. Our Charter is a statement that reflects this commitment and provides a clear framework for what you can expect from us.

In 2009, Council won both the State and National Service Excellence Awards presented by the Customer Service Institute of Australia, recognising our outstanding professionalism, dedication and responsiveness in ensuring the best possible customer service is provided. We hope to continue our strong commitment to our Customers.

The Burbs kick starts this Thursday

I am excited to invite you all to the launch of the Burbs Festival on Thursday, March 31 at Westpoint Shopping Centre, Level 4 stage starting from 5.30pm. There will live performances under stars from some of our most talented local musicians. The launch will also mark the beginning of National Youth Week and will culminate on Sunday, April 10.

Now in its fifth year, Council again presents the Burbs Festival as part of Youth Week. Over this period the festival has transformed from a one-day event into a week-long festival for the enjoyment of the 55,000 young people that live in our City.

Festival events will run across the City; from Blacktown to Mount Druitt, Doonside to Lalor Park, in various locations such as shopping centres, parks, community centres. Some events include a Dance Party, Poetry Slam, Freecycle, Hip Hop Festival and Rock Against the Beast.

All events are targeted to young people aged 12-24 years and are proudly drug and alcohol free. Families, supporters and the young-at-heart are welcome to attend all events and celebrate our City's most vibrant assets - our youth.

For event information and details visit Council's website www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au or call 9839 6000.
