Get ready to celebrate Australia Day on The Rooty Hill

Make Australia Day 2010 one to remember at Council's free Australia Day celebrations on The Rooty Hill, Monday, January 26 from 3pm.

The day will feature a colonial market, food fair, free amusement and pony rides.

There will also be performances by Wendy Matthews and Marcia Hines plus many more!

Tertiary Scholarships applications close Friday, January 15, 2010

Council is offering Tertiary Scholarships of $1,500 to eleven Blacktown City residents who have completed at least one year of current enrolment at a recognised tertiary institution by the end of 2009 and continue study in 2010.

One of the eleven scholarships is the The Anne Aquilina Memorial Scholarship and is made available to a student who is studying physiotherapy, sports medicine or health sciences.

To apply, applicants must be residents of Blacktown City and previous recipients of this Scholarship are not eligible to apply
