Last opportunity to make your mark in Riverstone
There is only two weeks left for residents to become part of Riverstone's history by ordering a commemorative paver as part of the Riverstone Bicentenary Paving Project.
The Paving Project is an opportunity for local residents to leave their mark in Riverstone's history by purchasing a paver which they can have engraved with their name, date or design. Pavers will then be laid in Lions Park, Riverstone and unveiled on November 7, 2010.
Pavers start at $25 each and range in sizes and prices.
Residents have until Saturday, July 31, 2010 to take advantage of this unique once in a lifetime offer. Don't miss out on being a part of Riverstone's history. Call 9839 6000 for more details.
Marathon set for next Sunday
The Westlink M7 Cities Marathon will take place next Sunday, July 25.
The 42.195km marathon is internationally accredited by the International Association of Athletics Federation and is a completely traffic free track allowing for a smooth flowing event.
The marathon will start in Liverpool and lead contestants 30km along the M7 Shared Pathway to Quakers Hill where it will turn back and head towards the finish line at Blacktown Olympic Park, Rooty Hill.
Entrants in the marathon come not only from Blacktown but from all over Australia and the world.
As in previous years, there is a prize pool of $50,000 from the marathon's generous sponsors; Westlink M7, Blacktown City Council, Liverpool City Council and Fairfield City Council.
I take this opportunity to wish all participants the best of luck in the marathon and hope for a successful event.
