01/11/2009 Eleven $1,500 tertiary scholarships on offer to Blacktown City residents
Blacktown City Council is offering Tertiary Scholarships of $1,500 to eleven Blacktown City residents who have completed at least one year of current enrolment at a recognised tertiary institution by the end of 2009 and continue study in 2010.

The Cancer Council’s Blacktown Relay for Life takes place this weekend, 10am, Saturday, October 31 to 10am, Sunday, November 1 at Blacktown Olympic Park, Eastern Road, Rooty Hill.

Fireworks, live entertainment, fun and games are some of the great draw cards for the 2009 Cancer Council’s Blacktown City Relay for Life event scheduled over the October 31 – November 1 weekend at Blacktown Olympic Park.

I encourage young people aged between 5 and 17, who are either living or going to school in the Mount Druitt and Rooty Hill areas to show off their artistic talents and submit a piece of artwork in the upcoming ‘Early Days’ exhibition.

I am proud to announce that Blacktown City Council’s Library Service has been announced as one of Australia’s top 15 E-learning Innovators for 2009-2010 by Tutoring Australia’s CEO Jack Goodman.
