Mount Druitt Village Historical officially opened
I had the pleasure of officially opening the Mount Druitt Village Historical Mural on Friday, 25 November, 2011. This exciting and uplifting project is a joint partnership with Mount Druitt Chamber of Commerce and Mount Druitt Historical Society.
The Mount Druitt Village Mural was painted by artist Mazin Talib and is part of Council's Clean Cities Business Pride Program. The project aims to reduce the incidence of graffiti within the Mount Druitt Village precinct by painting a historical themed mural on a graffiti affected wall in Mount Druitt Place, Mount Druitt.
Programs like this are effective in the management of graffiti and are just one of the proactive ways our Council is working with other agencies and community groups to tackle the problem.
The Clean Cities Business Pride Program aims to develop a social compact between Council and local shopkeepers in shopping precincts to promote positive community behaviours and improve amenities.
