Nominate someone for International Women’s Day Award are now open!
If you know a woman who has made a valuable contribution to the community through paid or unpaid work, then I encourage you to nominate them for a Blacktown City Women of the Year Award.
International Women's Day (IWD) 2012 is an annual event that aims to highlight issues of women's equality and this year will be held globally on Thursday, March 8, 2011. A number of events will take place across Blacktown City to mark the occasion, including the awards.
Categories for nominations are;
- Leadership award for women who demonstrate outstanding leadership to better women's lives and empower them though education skills in a paid or unpaid capacity.
- Community award for women who demonstrate outstanding commitment in working or volunteering in the areas of arts, local heritage and caring for others.
Nomination forms are available at Blacktown City Council, 62 Flushcombe Road Blacktown, by calling 9839 6000 or by visiting Council's website at www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au.
Nominations open: Monday, 16 January, 2012 and will close Monday, 6 February, 2012.
