Official Opening of the Mount Druitt Hub
The Mount Druitt Hub will be officially opened this Saturday 19 November with a Community Open Day!
Between 9.30am to 4pm, local residents are encouraged to come down to The Mount Druitt Hub, Ayres Grove, Mount Druitt to explore all the new and exciting features of The Hub and enjoy a great day of entertainment.
Throughout the day there will be performances on stage by local dance groups, martial arts demonstrations, a youth choir and an Indigenous choir.
There will be an appearance by Rooby Roo from Paint Mount Druitt REaD, a jumping castle, displays from the SES, local Indigenous artist Danny Eastwood and the Mount Druitt Historical Society, face painting, henna tattoos, a BBQ, competitions and performances by a Youth Ukulele Group.
Inside the new Library, visitors will see a local history display, have an opportunity to participate in technology demonstrations, enjoy storytime sessions and be entertained by the Butucarbin Youth Choir and Indigenous Choir.

Christmas celebrations to kick off at Mount Druitt
The first Christmas event for Blacktown City will be held this Thursday 17 November as the lights on the Christmas Tree in Dawson Mall are switched on for the very first time for 2011.
Come along between 5pm - 9pm and enjoy a Christmas concert featuring the Jitterbugs, and carols by local community groups.
At 8.30pm, Santa will help switch on the Christmas Tree lights on the 26 foot Christmas Tree.
There are many Christmas events taking place in Blacktown City, including the Blacktown Christmas Tree Light Up Concert on Thursday 24 November in Civic Plaza, the Mayoress Christmas Gift Appeal and the Blacktown City Decorate Your Home Christmas Competition.
