Applications now open for the 2012 Performing Arts residency program
I invite practising Performing Artists to submit applications for Blacktown Arts Centre's Performing Arts Residency Program 2012.
The Residency Program aims to provide for professional development and creation of new performance works. The residencies, 2 to 3 weeks in duration, offer the opportunity for solo or collaborating artists to conduct research and experimentation towards the development of new work under the guidance of a recognised industry mentor.
The wonderful initiative offers creative and financial support to local artists to assist them in further developing their artistic skills.
To be eligible for the Residency Program, applicants are required to demonstrate a link with an industry mentor, be artists who are residents of the Blacktown City Local Government Area or Western Sydney, or who can demonstrate a strong connection to Blacktown City.
Applications can be obtained by contacting Blacktown Arts Centre on 9839 6558 or by visiting the website www.artscentre.blacktown.nsw.gov.au. Applicants are asked to provide a resume, along with examples of work when submitting their application. Applications close: Friday 2 September 2011.
